Enabling Peace and Justice Work

Peace House is a place people leave wanting to build peace and justice in the world, or conduct transformational action.

We offer you the space you need for your own peace or justice work, in the broadest sense. For example:

• Local-level work with individuals, groups, and communities:
  • Meditation and contemplation groups (from any tradition, or none)
  • Interfaith (inter-religious) groups
  • Psychotherapeutic and mindfulness groups (we see inner wellbeing as part of peace work)
  • Groups from Christian or other religious traditions
  • Groups from 'spiritual but not religious' quarters
  • Mediation or conciliation groups (eg, family guidance)
  • Campaigning groups (campaigning is something we do, so we want to support other campaigners)
  • Arts (the venue is not suited to large-scale arts activities, and has limited hanging space)
• Social, national, international level:
  • NGO/Charity
  • Political groups

What we can not support

We wish to be welcoming to all visitors, subject to availability. We reserve the right to refuse any group advocating or supporting violence in any way.

Peace House Aims and Objectives

Peace House is the home of the Fellowship of Reconciliation in England (FoRE), and gives space to enable its work to live, breathe, thrive and develop. Through its spaces for hire, Peace House furthers FoRE's aims by enabling the practical development of peace and justice work within, and between, individuals, groups, societies, cultures, and nations.

Some of this work is undertaken by FoRE directly, and some by other groups with aligned objectives.
