Visiting and Lending Library

Download and search through our catalogue*

*This catalogue lists over 1,000 book titles. A complete list (including our DVD, large size, leaflet and irregular titles) is hoped to be made available on our website later in the year.

Visit the Library

The visiting library is an excellent resource in central Oxford containing books on peace issues. These titles are available for loan to anyone who lives in the UK (and to FoRE Members only who are living abroad). Loans are for a period of one month.

If you are studying international relations and post-conflict peace-building, or similar subjects, please visit the Peace Library at Peace House. The library is usually available during office hours. Phone ahead to check on 250781. The library mainly contains books on conflict resolution, peacemaking, non-violent activism, and peace and Christian theology, but also carries general titles as well as titles regarding other faiths.

Lending

Lending is free of charge to Oxford University and Oxford Brookes students. Some resources in the library are currently for sale at half price, and this includes handbooks on nonviolent conflict resolution.

We are grateful to hear of any recommendations for addition; we have a small budget for new acquisitions.

Remote Lending

There is no fixed fee for use of this service. All charges levied are strictly for postage and handling and will, therefore, vary depending on weight, size and number of books borrowed. An invoice will be included when the books are despatched. Please be aware that we can only accept payment by BACS, cheques drawn on a UK bank, or postal orders in £ Sterling.

Note of Thanks

We are grateful to the work of several volunteers for the update compilation of our library catalogue. We are particularly grateful to Zubair Ahmed, a Muslim peace-lover.
